PRESIDENT EMERITUS - Paul K. Taff
Born in 1920 - same year as first radio station established in the United States.
First radio job at WSOY, Decatur, Illinois in 1940. Graduated with A.B. Degree Millikin University in 1941. Continuity Director KFUO, St. Louis - became Asst. Program Director of KFUO. Program Director WBEZ-FM, Chicago.
Asst. General Manager and Program Director WTVP-TV, Decatur, Ill. First General Manager of WMVS-TV, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Held several management positions at National Educational Television (NET), including Director of Children's Programs - where he brought Mister Rogers Neighborhood to national television , and was a member of organizing committee for Sesame Street.
President and CEO of television and radio at Connecticut Public Broadcasting. Started flagship radio station WPBH which was later re-named - WPKT.
President Connecticut Broadcasters Association
Currently President Emeritus of the Connecticut Broadcasters Association
Master's Degree in Speech - Northwestern University. Honorary Doctors of Letters, Univ. of New Haven
CBA Life Time Achievement Award NATAS Gold Circle Award - 50 Year Career in Television
During career served on:
- The first Board of Directors of PBS.
- Trustee of NPR satellite transponder.
- Connecticut Ethics Commission.
- Conn. Reading Inf. Service - CRIS
- Chairman State Board of Academic Awards.
- Member of organizing Board of Connecticut Television Network.
- Many Broadcaster Committees and Forums including those of the European Broadcasting Union and the White House.
Married to Dawn Odell. Two sons - Paul, and Richard, one granddaughter Stephanie.
